Aunt Jan… She raised me to be a lady. She cared about my grammar, took me for makeovers at Dillard's, always bought me dresses and cute little outfits. She taught me how to sew, to do other crafts and introduced me to Martha Stewart. She taught me about healthy eating and caring about the things I put in my body… But also knew how to make really great cookie and ice cream sundaes. I owe so much of who I am today to her. More memories than I could ever list. I’m grateful that she got to know my children. And I’m grateful that I get to know hers. Most of all, I’m very thankful for the last time I saw her - just a few weeks ago - we sat on the couch, talking and held hands with my head on her shoulder, just like when I was little. I miss her so much already. - Taryn $

Too many memories to list all of them. Aunt Jan was like a second mom to me more than an aunt. So many summers and holidays were spent in what I called “that Minden place.” Aunt Jan’s house was like a vacation for me. She spoiled me rotten. But she also taught me alot about life. One memory is how she would teach me to use proper grammar by giving me money and taking away coins every time I said “aint”, lol. Because of her I still love Wheel of Fortune & Scrabble!!
Aunt Jan had such a zest for life: pie fights, funny pranks, and laughing til we cried, we always knew how to have a good time. Monjuni’s and Teddy Bear’s… no restaurant was safe from our shenanigans. I just loved her so much and owe so much of who I am today to her. Grief has such a ripple effect and the Dollar family is no stranger to it. Sad we lost touch over the years but nothing can replace the time we spent together. Love you Aunt Jan and miss you so much!

Aunt Jan….i remember when i was 11 and my mom would meet you in Ruston so i could come stay with you for several days b/c you lived in Minden. I remember swimming at night in the pool, going to Watertown for the day, going on walks, and finishing up with a little cross stitching while we watched tv on the couch…. Thank you so much for the great childhood memories. Chad $
