Aunt Jan… She raised me to be a lady. She cared about my grammar, took me for makeovers at Dillard's, always bought me dresses and cute little outfits. She taught me how to sew, to do other crafts and introduced me to Martha Stewart. She taught me about healthy eating and caring about the things I put in my body… But also knew how to make really great cookie and ice cream sundaes. I owe so much of who I am today to her. More memories than I could ever list. I’m grateful that she got to know my children. And I’m grateful that I get to know hers. Most of all, I’m very thankful for the last time I saw her - just a few weeks ago - we sat on the couch, talking and held hands with my head on her shoulder, just like when I was little.
