Mrs. Veda Catherine Hall Pruitt, age 78, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2025.
Veda was a loving, strong, and witty woman of God whose joy for life was felt by everyone who knew her. She possessed a fun-loving spirit, a kind heart, and a servant’s soul, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness and warmth left a lasting impression on all she encountered.
Her faith in Jesus guided every part of her life, and it was evident in the way she loved, served, and cared for those around her. Second only to her love for Christ was her devotion to her husband, Jinks, whom she cherished deeply. Their love was a beautiful example of commitment, partnership, and joy.
Veda found her greatest happiness in loving her family, cooking countless meals in her kitchen, and serving others and her church. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched with her compassion, humor, and unwavering faith.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Veda is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Leland “Jinks” Pruitt; sons, Darin “Moosie” Pruitt, and wife Dena, Michael Pruitt, and wife Laura; sister, Sandra Hall Venable; sisters-in-law, Linda Pruitt Watson, Diana Hall; grandchildren, Holly Chamberlyn Pruitt, and fiancé Jack Barker, Beau-Cannon Levi Pruitt, Caitlin Pruitt Dixon, and husband Mason, Layton Thomas Pruitt; great-granddaughter, Lily Elizabeth Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Joseph “Kip” Hall and Annie Mae “Sally” Humble Hall; brothers, Tommy Hall, and wife Debbie, Larry Hall; brother-in-law, Willis Watson; in-laws, Levi and Mary Pruitt; and one special aunt, Margie Humble.
Serving as pallbearers will be Beau-Cannon Pruitt, Layton Pruitt, Kermit Kuethe, Tracy Mayo, Logan Ray, Charles Cook, and Kevin Watson. Honorary pallbearers are the men of New Hope Baptist Church and Dr. Greg Green.
