Obituary of Bobby E. Thompson

A celebration of life service for Mr. Bobby E. Thompson is scheduled for 4 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Memorial Park Cemetery, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. A time of visitation will precede the service, beginning at 2 PM, at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson, a resident of Bastrop, and a retired instrumental electrician for International Paper Company, passed away Friday, January 2, 2025, at the age of eighty-four. He was the owner and operator of B&J Trucking. He loved all animals and was able to create a special bond with them, especially if they were his. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Thompson; parents, Aaron Franklin Thompson and Annie Rushing Thompson; son, Mickey Thompson; daughter, Kym Jones; and brother, Jr. Thompson. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Terry Thompson and Selena Myers; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
