Obituary of Lola Mae Rogers

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Lola Mae Rogers will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10-11 AM, at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rogers, age 97, a resident of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Bastrop, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Houston Methodist Hospital, The Woodlands, TX. Mrs. Rogers was born May 21, 1928 in Hamburg, AR. She graduated from Hamburg High School and moved to Bastrop, LA, to work as a secretary in the Engineering Department for International Paper Co., Bastrop Mill. A few years later she was promoted to secretary for the mill manager. She worked in that position for thirty-five years with multiple mill managers. When IPCO shut down in Bastrop, she finished out her career in Human Relations at IPCO, Vicksburg, MS. Upon retirement, Lola enjoyed many years traveling with her husband Dale, in their RV, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Bastrop. Lola loved her Lord and always upheld her Christian values.
Mrs. Rogers is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Dale Rogers; her father, Monroe Ware; mother, Effie Ware; brothers, Henderson Christmas, Clark Ware, Clifton Ware; and sisters, Ozell Hutton, Opal Beazley, and Sybil Barnett.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Dale Scoggins of West Monroe, LA, and Kathy Rogers Raines of Conroe, TX; granddaughters, Laura Tarver of West Monroe, Stephanie Dowdy of Van Alstyne, TX, and Lisa Jones of Katy, TX; great-grandchildren, Austin Achord, Mary Blake Achord, Grayson Achord, Emmett Dowdy, William Dowdy, Walker Jones, Brooks Jones, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her “adopted” Windsor Lakes daughters, Donna Hinmon, Janet Noark, Teresa Johnson, and Wanda Laskoskie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or First Baptist Church, Bastrop, LA.
