Obituary of David Lamar Montgomery

Funeral services for Mr. David Montgomery, age 70, are scheduled for 1 PM Monday at Tillou Baptist Church with Bro Doug Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 PM at Tillou. Interment will follow in Tillou Baptist Church Cemetery.. Mr. Montgomery, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Friday, January 15, 2026. He was a member of Tillou Baptist Church. He was always helping others in need and keeping watch over the church as well as the neighbors in the community. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his sisters, Connie Ramsey of Hamburg, AR, Nelda Lusby and Husband Larry of Beekman, LA; brother, Billy Montgomery and wife Barbara of Bastrop, LA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Mr. Montgomery is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruth Montgomery; brothers, Richard Alan Montgomery and Charles Leslie Montgomery. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Montgomery, Doyle Roberson, Ben White, Gary Warner, Michael Sharp, Kaleb Fritz and Terry Shivers. Honorary Pallbearer will be Nicholas Johnson.
