Elvy “Louise” Lee passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, just two days prior to her 100th birthday. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and fierce independence. Although widowed at age of 37, she overcame the hardship of being a single mother. Louise retired from Sears Department Store where she worked in the women’s clothing department. After retiring, she spent her free time painting furniture and visiting with family and friends. Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Lee, Sr.; son, Leroy Lee, Jr.; daughters, Sharon Wagner and Penny Ivey; son in law, Les Ivey; grandson, Robert Young and siblings, Stanley Wade Bennett, Ed Bennett, Frankie Ransow, Alice Ballard, Shirley Bourgeois, Margaret Gordon, and Nina Gresham. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jason Ivey (Christy), Teri Ivey, Christi Cook (Wayne), Ashlee Lowery (Steve); 14 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. A graveside service will be held on March 28, 2026 in Folsom, Louisiana where her ashes will be placed alongside her husband, son, and daughter. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Lagniappe Nursing Facility of Bastrop, Louisiana for the care and compassion they provided during Louise Lee’s time residing at the facility. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
