Funeral services for Mr. David “Doc” Gene White, age 89, are scheduled for 11 AM Friday, February 6, 2026 at First Apostolic Church in Bastrop with Bro. Todd Wooden officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 11 AM Friday morning prior to services.
He is survived by his wife, L. Yvonne White; three daughters, Belinda Stell, Sarah Knight and husband Greg of Hamburg, AR, Lori Freeman of Bastrop, LA; step-children, Myra Lynn Russ, Tina Renee Wheat and husband David; grandchildren, Tiffany Maxwell, Heather Hackett, Jessica Dumas and husband Justin, Holly Freeman; step-grandchildren, Joseph Russ, Jr. and wife Leah, Nicky Russ and wife Elizabeth, David Ryan Wheat, Matthew Alan Wheat and wife Katie; great grandchildren, Madison Alexandra Lightfoot and husband Christian, Noah David Hackett, Benjamin Gage Hackett, Lynnlee Dumas, and numerous step-great grandchildren, great great grandson, Percy Creed Lightfoot and extended family and friends.
Mr. White is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee White; parents, John Larkin and Sarah “Sadie” Rachel White; twelve siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
