Funeral services for Steven Clark Gambrell will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10 AM in the Chapel at Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Jason Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 AM, until service time. Mr. Gambrell passed Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the age of 62.
Mr. Gambrell is a veteran from the Air Force. He served 13 years from 1982 until 1995 during Desert Storm and was a missile maintenance mechanic. He was known and loved by his family and friends as Steve and “Poppy” by his grandchildren.
Mr. Gambrell is survived by his wife, Mae “Franny” Gambrell; father, Herbert “LaBree” Gambrell; daughters, June MacKenzie Gambrell, Meagan Elizabeth Ramsey and husband Curt; sister, Christi Fetteroff and husband Alan; brother, David Gambrell and wife Edie and grandchildren, Xavier Ren Ramsey and Amora Faye Ramsey.
Mr. Gambrell is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Louise Sims Gambrell.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
