Obituary of Charles "Harry" Franklin, II

Funeral services for Charles “Harry” Franklin, II, are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA, with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon. Mr. Franklin, a retired salesman and member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of seventy-seven. He dearly loved his daughters, Kelley and Leigh, and had a passion for cars, often spending time buying and rebuilding them. He also enjoyed researching his family genealogy and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Mr. Franklin is survived by his ex-wife and best friend of thirty years, Marilyn “Jolly” Franklin; daughters, Kelley Renee Franklin, and Vincent Killian, and Meredith Leigh Martin, and husband Richard; sister, Lou Ann Copeland, and husband Eugene; niece, Susan Diane Coston; nephew, Robert Franklin Harper, and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Parker Allen Richardson and Cooper Reid Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Harry Franklin and Annie Lois “Lou” Franklin; and niece, Kimberly Ann Harper.
