Obituary of Jerry Allen Oser

Funeral Services for Jerry A. Oser will be held at Harmony Baptist Church on Thursday, April 16th at 2:00 PM with Brother Allan Eppinette officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Collinston, LA. A time of visitation will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Jerry Allen Oser, of Collinston, LA, passed away on April 13th, 2026, in his home at the age of eighty. Mr. Oser was a talented carpenter who specialized in residential painting and served our community for fifty-three years. His family was his treasure; he cherished every moment spent riding the “400 Road” and enjoying the outdoors with them. He became “Papaw” to every kid who came to his home and made sure they knew how much he cared for them. Mr. Oser was a selfless and honorable man who would give you his last dollar and the shirt off his back if you needed it. Jerry Allen was a one-of-a-kind husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend; he will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Jerry is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Catherine Oser; daughters, Shawn Marie Oser, and Lisa and Damon Wade; siblings, Joyce Mcmilleon, Marilyn and Wayne Gilbreath, and Lynn LeBrun; grandchildren, Chelsea and Preston Trigleth, Brayden and Kaitlynn Oser; great grandchildren, Paisley Trigleth and Chelsea Lynne Oser; and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Brayden Oser, Preston Trigleth, Damon Wade, Robbie Reed, Ricky Parrott, Daven Mcmilleon and David Denton. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Gilbreath, Johnny Carter, J R Carter, Josh LeBrun, Brent Mcmilleon and Jason Mcmilleon.
