Obituary of Stephen Grantham

Funeral services for Mr. Stephen Gerald Grantham are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Bonita Road Baptist Church with Bro. Casey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, April 27, 2026 from 5 PM - 7 PM at the church. Mr. Grantham, a retired employee of Atmos Gas and member of Bonita Road Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of seventy-eight. He loved to hunt and was a member of the Cox Camp. Mr. Grantham enjoyed bowling, and had served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He believed, “Once a Marine, Always a Marine.” Mr. Grantham was also a Reserve Deputy with Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office, but his favorite past time was spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Michael Paul Grantham and wife, Robin, Jeff Philley and wife, Heather, Paula Girod and husband, Todd, Tammy Pace and husband, Richard, Jody Philley and wife, April, and Jessie Philley; siblings, Karen Fryer and husband, Milford of Kilbourne, LA, Yvonne Ducey of Texas, Ronnie Grantham and wife, Lisa of Downsville, LA, and Greg Grantham and wife, Pam of Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Grantham is preceded in death by his wife, Susan; father, Melton Grantham; mother, Mary Grantham; sister, Pam Grantham; brother, Lavon Grantham; grandson, Grant Girod; and great grandson, Knox Stutts. Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons; Josh Grantham, Caleb Philley, Hayden Philley, Layton Philley, Aidan Girod, Tim Ricard, Ryan Stutts, and Kane Williams.
