Obituary of John Tony Bordenaro

Funeral service for John Tony Bordenaro are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonne Idee Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 2 PM prior to the service. John Tony Bordenaro of Bonita, LA was born September 26, 1934 to Nick Bordenaro and Mamie Martin Bardenaro and passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was a retired farmer who lived a very simple life. He loved his wife of sixty-eight years and his family very much. When John was able, he enjoyed working in his yard and garden and going fishing. But most of all, he enjoyed sitting in his swing with his wife and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He really loved get-togethers. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Bordenaro and children, Kenneth Bordenaro, Terry Bordenaro and fiancee’, April, Janice Coleman and husband, Danny, Gloria Travis and husband, Scott; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren. Mr. Bordenaro is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Nick Bordenaro, Joe Bordenaro, Vita Blasingame, Rosie Lee Thompson, Sally Cotton, Frances Morrell, Mary Dennis, Josephine Thomplait, and one granddaughter, Jennifer Travis Stokes. Serving the family as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons, Shaun Coleman, Joshua Coleman, Vinson Stokes, Nathan Stokes, Bryce Coleman, and Jace Coleman. Honorary pallbearers are Evan Walker, Brady Walker, Rylan Walker, Briggs Conley, Bryson Conley, Crockett Nelson, and Bryan Martin. The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of LeGrand and Morehouse General Hospital for their loving care.
