Obituary of Carolyn Sims Risinger

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Sims Risinger are scheduled for 10 AM, Monday, May 18, 2026 at the Bonne Idee Cemetery, near Mer Rouge, LA. Bro. Newton Smith will serve as the officiant. Mrs. Risinger, a resident of Bastrop, passed away at her home on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the age of eighty. She was a loving homemaker to her husband for sixty-three years and a devoted employee of the ARC of Morehouse. Her heart of love was extended to her family and children with special needs, as well as those who were less fortunate. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Minnie Sims; brother, C.W. Sims; and sisters, Shirley Holland and Sue Johnston. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald D. Risinger; sons Brad Risinger, and wife Terri, of Bastrop, LA, and Randal Risinger of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Debra Sanders, of Bastrop, LA, Peggy Coleman and Faye, of Bastrop, LA; brothers, Cecil Sims, and wife Elaine, of Bonita, LA and M.O. Sims of Bastrop, LA; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Powell Risinger; grand children, Meghan Risinger (Chelbi), Madison Cantrell (Ty), and Shelby Risinger; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
