Obituary of Ruby Louise Rachel

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Louise Rachel, age 90, are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry & Sis Rita Stuckey officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service at Goldens. Mrs. Rachel, a resident of Bastrop, LA and retired office manager of Seymore Cable, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026. She loved shopping and traveling, especially taking trips to visit family that lived away. She was also an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and camping. Mrs. Ruby was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rachel; daughter, Polly Crymes; grandson, William Casey Craig; father, Robert Albright; mother, Julia Burgess Albright; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Albright, Tommy Albright, Johnny Albright; sister, Dorothy Ainsworth and Sue McCreight. Mrs. Rachel is survived by her daughters, Glenda Houston, Peggy Gillpatrick and Brett Sims; son, Malcolm “Mike” Fussell, Jr.; grandchildren, Alonda Reynolds and husband Joe, Trey Fussell and wife Kim, Shelly Parrino and husband John, Jacob Houston, Kelley Craig and Rusty Linares, Nathan Gillpatrick and Kesha Cockrell, David Gillpatrick and wife Melisa and Darrell Gillpatrick and wife Kelly, numerous great grandchildren and friends.
