The family will receive friends Sunday, prior to the service, beginning at 2 PM. Mrs. Annie Maxwell passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at the age of eighty-five. She enjoyed caring for her family, gardening, and creating a loving home. Throughout her life, she worked in a variety of roles, including driving the bookmobile for West Carroll Parish Library and managing the Quality Stamp redemption center. She held other positions such as child care, doughnut fryer and cake decorating, restaurant hostess, and clerical work. She traveled across the country with her husband, Bobby, while he worked pipeline jobs. Eventually, she joined the pipeline crew herself and took great pride in the work she did. In more recent years, she enjoyed her time working at the Freedom Fitness center in Oak Grove. Annie was an active member of Pioneer Baptist Church and the Gideons Auxiliary. She and Bobby both were active in the Prison Ministry through the Gideon organization. She spent several years with the Oak Grove Garden Club where she participated in community events and beautification projects. She was an avid crafter, enjoyed photos and scrapbooking, and was our family historian. She loved traveling and was blessed to see much of the country alongside Bobby. Through the years, she often invited her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to visit them in the many places they called home, creating lasting memories and stories that were shared time and time again. Annie deeply valued family and had a special way of bringing loved ones together for gatherings, celebrations, and reunions, helping keep family bonds strong. No one worked harder for her family than Annie did. Whether preparing meals, offering support, or quietly putting the needs of others before her own, she always wanted those around her to have a better life. She showed her love not only through words but through a lifetime of generosity, dedication, and selfless care for her family and friends. Annie is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Garfield Pennington and Clara Aetna Freeman Pennington, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She was the youngest of nine siblings and spent many years caring for her mother and her sister, Rita. She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Bobby Maxwell; Sons, James Maxwell and wife Charlene of Kingman, AZ; Kenneth Maxwell of Oak Grove LA; daughter, Karen Clark and husband Danny Clark of Monroe, LA; grandchildren; Terra Clark Colvin and husband Justin; Brian Clark, Brandon Maxwell and wife Carrie, Stephanie McKinney and husband Jeff; great grandchildren; John Calvin Jeter and wife Zoey, Nathyn Colvin, Brayden McKinney, Topher Simpkins, Allie Colvin, Makayia McKinney, Rowan Clark, Winston Maxwell, Linnae Maxwell, Payton Clark, and Presley Clark, and great-great-grandchild; Griffin Jeter.
