Funeral services for Margaret Rose Croft are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, beginning at 9 AM.
Ms. Croft, a resident of Monroe, LA, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of seventy-six. She was a longtime employee and photographer for Gannett Newspapers, and a staff photographer for USA Today with two stints in Washington DC. Ms. Croft was known for being an independent person who never wanted to burden others. She doted over her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her brother, John Marion Croft, III; nieces, Rachel Ayers Bartolomei and Laura Roberts; nephews, John M. Croft, IV, Brian Pierce Croft, and Eric Ayers; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ms. Croft is preceded in death by her parents, John Marion Croft, Jr. and Nancy Newsome Croft; and brother, Hudson Ayers.
