A memorial service for Mr. Johnie D. "Joe" Tubbs is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimbo Herring officiating. Mr. Tubbs, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010.
Mr. Tubbs has been employed as a farmer and truck driver. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Tubbs; and sister, Phyllis Buffington. His children will remember him as a loving father.
He is survived by his three children, Melanie Paige Tubbs Yelverton and husband Andy of Bastrop, LA, Ashley Dawn Tubbs Langford of Austin, TX, Jon Morgan Tubbs of Crossett, AR; three grandchildren, Damon Faine Langford, Bailey Cade Johnson, Micah Britton Harris; three step-grandchildren, Marissa Yelverton, Madison Yelverton, Mason Yelverton; two brothers, Larry G. Tubbs and Ronnie Tubbs, both of Bastrop and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
