Obituary of Robert Edwin "Bob" Driggers

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Edwin "Bob" Driggers, age 69, are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2 PM service time. Mr. Driggers, a resident of Fifty Six, AR, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016. After pastoring many churches in Louisiana and Illinois, he and Dorothy joined as members of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Fifty Six, AR. He attended the Air Force Academy and graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in engineering. He also managed Peoples Water Company for many years. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Yates Driggers; sister, Barbara Amy and husband Larry of Austin, TX; aunt, Edna Bingham of Rapid City, SD; sisters-in-law, Katherine Tubbs, Bastrop, LA, Peggy Bonner and husband Jimmy of Starkville, MS; brother-in-law, Hilton Yates and wife Regina of Muskogee, OK; his very special dog, Beau; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Driggers is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde J. and Elda Driggers, and his precious daughter, Cindy Driggers. Serving as pallbearers will be, Mike Tubbs, Steve Tubbs, Zachary Tubbs, Murphy Tubbs, Jimmy Bonner, Chris Bonner, Will Bonner, Bryant Bonner, Jacob Post, and Zane Tubbs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
