Funeral services for Mr. Huey Evans, 82 of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters and Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Saturday, June 11 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Evans, a United States Veteran and deacon of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. He loved his family, enjoyed life to the fullest, and was a friend to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and many people were recipients of his stories.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Jane Evans; sons, Craig Evans and wife Regina, Brent Evans, Blake Evans and wife Laurie; sisters, Jeannette Ray, Faye Jordan; brothers, Ray Evans, Ronald Aubrey Evans; grandchildren, Lee Evans, Samantha Muro and husband Brandon, Ashton Evans; great granddaughter, Molly Marie Evans and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, L.A. Sr. and Louise Evans, Mary Stanley, Kenneth Evans, Erwin "Hookey" Evans, L.A. Evans, Jr., and Benny Sam Evans.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Evans, Ashton Evans, Brandon Muro, Billy Jordan, Curtis Jordan, and Tommy Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Evans, Dillon Evans, and the deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
