Harold Sharp of Log Cabin, LA went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2016. Harold was born in April 5, 1944 in Adona, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Harold married Janet Griffith of Pennsylvania on June 24, 1967. Since 1973, they lived together in the home he built in Log Cabin. Harold worked at Hickory Manor in Bastrop for 30 years, and served as a Volunteer Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol in Morehouse Parish. He was a long-time member of Cox Camp Hunting Club. The Sharps attended New Life Community Church in Monroe. Harold Sharp was a beloved husband, father and friend. He was a hardworking, kind, selfless, and honorable man that showed the love of Jesus to everyone he came across. Harold’s family and friends will remember him as loving, gentle and peaceful. He leaves behind an amazing legacy in children and grandchildren. Harold is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jan Sharp, as well as his six sons and two daughters: Rob and Jill Sharp of Shreveport, John and Amanda Sharp of Bastrop, David and Sara Sharp of Sterlington, Matthew and Sharon Sharp of Swartz, Daniel and Anna Sharp of Bastrop, James and Hanna Sharp of Sterlington, Wes and Mary Johnson of Dallas, and Rebecca Dufresne of Bastrop. He is also survived by his siblings: Corine Hurst of Katy, TX; Sharron DeVoge of Rosharon, TX; Bob Sharp of Camerilla, CA, and Bruce Sharp of Crossett, AR. Harold is survived by his 17 grandchildren and one great grandson: Colby and Christin Sharp, Ian and Lauren Hatcher, Martin Milner, Destiny Sharp, Stephanie Sharp, Miranda Milner, Elisha Sharp, Abby Sharp, Joshua Sharp, Matthan Dufresne, Jude Sharp, Daniel Sharp, Johnny Sharp, Jesse Dufresne, Irelyn Sharp, Enoch Sharp, Rosalie Sharp; and Tavner Hatcher. Harold is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Robert and Ellen Sharp, Wayne Sharp, Donna Carter, and Sammy Sharp. A memorial service will be held at Tillou Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m.
