Obituary of Tammy Townsend Barfield

Funeral services for Mrs. Tammy Townsend Barfield, age 51 of Balch Springs, TX, are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at First Assembly Of God with Rev. Dusty Walker and Rev. Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Monday, December 12, 2016 at Golden Funeral Home and at First Assembly Of God from 12 PM until 2 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 prior to service time at 2 PM. Mrs. Barfield Loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings. She had a great sense of humor, loved the New Orleans Saints, and cooking, but her true passion was her family. She was a follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Joseph "Runt" Barfield; daughter, Erica Ann Edwards of Bastrop, LA; son, Brandon Earl Edwards of Mesquite, TX; sisters, Gwendolyn Townsend Owens of Sterlington, LA, Melody Carson of West Monroe, LA, Rachel Parkey of Frisco, TX, Rebecca Townsend; brothers, Olee Ray Townsend, Jr. of West Monroe, LA, Larry Townsend of West Monroe, LA, Michael Johnson of West Monroe, LA, Russell Townsend of Princeton, TX; grandchildren, Illiana Bailey, Adriana Bailey, Juliana Bailey, Kaleb Edwards, and "bestest" friend Cheryl Tyson. Mrs. Barfield is preceded in death by her father, Olee Ray Townsend and her mother, Mary DelRio Oliver. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Owens, Trey Owens, Robby Franklin, Ricky Carson, Dillon Carson, Zachary Johnson, B.J. Tyson and Jimmy Don Barfield.
