Obituary of Willie I. Burchell

Funeral services for Mrs. Willie I. Burchell are scheduled for 3 PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Dr. Vic Carter officiating. Private interment will take place at Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM Wednesday until 3 PM service time. Mrs. Burchell, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at the age of seventy-eight. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Elvie Fulmer and Syble Lockling. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Burchell, of Bastrop; sons, Dennis Burchell, of Bastrop, and Michael Burchell, and wife Barbara, of Bastrop; brother, Billy Brooks, of Simsboro, LA; two grandchildren, Ashley and Steven Spurlin, and Chris Burchell and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Jerimah, Noah, Josh, Ethan, and Alayah. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, a 1958 graduate of Bastrop High School, and worked for Seligman's Department Store for twenty-eight years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as, other extended family.
