We were so saddened to learn about Jim. He was a great friend to us when we first moved to Morehouse Parish as newlyweds and novice teachers. We will always remember his kindness to us.

Jim was a distinquished gentleman who had lots of class. It was my honor to be his pastor for several years and never once heard a discouraging comment. He was a really good man and a superb principal. I loved the years I worked for him! I am sorry to see him leave this world. But we will meet again! I will be praying for all the Brent family as you adjust to living without him.

God Bless you all, and keep you, and comfort you. I know Brother Jim had a hard time the last few years, suffering from Alzheimer's. We know he is in a better place. He will be sorely missed until we see him again, soon. He was a great mentor to me, first as P.E. teacher in Junior High, second as Assistant Principal when I was teaching at Bastrop High School in the 70s, and as a strong Christian and Godly man. He mentored so many others when he was Principal of Prairie View Academy for many years. 6
