Obituary of Ruth Weaver Brown

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Weaver Brown, 71, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 10 AM Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Cameron Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Mrs. Brown, a retired sitter for the elderly, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Morehouse General Hospital. She enjoyed taking care of her family and others. Also, working in her yard and caring for animals. She is survived by her mother, Ethel Weaver of Waco, TX; daughter, Rebecca Brown ; sons, Danny Brown and Jerrold Brown and wife Sharon, all of Bastrop, LA; sister, Judy Weaver of Bastrop, LA; brother, Jerrold Weaver and wife Darlene of Waco, TX; five grandchildren, Holly Coats, Jimmy Lingfelt, Jr., Amanda Kelly, Danny Joe Clark, Amber Graves; six other grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Serving as pallbearers are: Jimmy Lingefelt, Jr., Terry Kelly, Justin Coats, Dakota Weaver, Jacob Jordan, Will Watson, Isaac Smith and Danny Joe Clark. Honorary pallbearers are: Mike Bandy and Mark Weaver. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her father, Ed Weaver; husband, Gordon K. Brown; sister, Mary Lois Sims; grandmother, Velma Mobley; nephews, J.J. Weaver, Grady Sims and niece, Karen Sims. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
