Obituary of Lavon Lawrence Jordan

Funeral services for Mrs. Lavon Lawrence Jordan, age 90, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Jordan, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at Morehouse General Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claud Lawrence; son, Claud Edward Lawrence, Jr.; her parents; and brother, John Duncan. Mrs. Jordan loved to spend time watching birds, squirrels, and rabbits. This past February she was honored as "Morehouse Parish Senior Citizen of the Month" at Lagniappe Health Care. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Tull and husband Bernie of Shreveport, LA; son, Cleve Lawrence and wife Wanda of Bastrop, LA; sister, Quentin Chambers of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Helene Duncan of Sterlington, LA; four grandchildren, Wendy Lawrence of Bastrop, LA, Bernie "Dee" Tull, III and wife Robin of Rockwall, TX; Tommy Tull and fiance Angel Smith of Terre Haute, IN, Richard Tull and wife Nicole of Pineville, LA; and seven great grandchildren, Bernae Tull, Brenna Tull, Aniela Whisman, William Whisman, Gabriel Whisman, Nichole Samples, Tyler Samples and wife Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Lawrence, Bernie Tull, Dee Tull, Richard Tull, Bill Tull, and Chuck Lord. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Lawrence, Tommy Tull, Floyd Tomboli, and Jamie Jones. The family of Mrs. Jordan would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Netherland and the staff of Lagniappe Health Care.
