Obituary of Littie Jean Pennington

Graveside services for Littie Jean Pennington are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, July 20, 2023, in Carter Cemetery, with Mr. Joe Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Pennington, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the age of ninety-five. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of the Central Church of Christ. Mrs. Pennington was a hard worker, having a big garden she tended, and she also enjoyed quilting. She was known for her big heart and for always giving to others. Mrs. Pennington loved cooking for her family and was especially known for her buttermilk pancakes! Above all else, she loved her Lord and Savior, and had a passion for His word! Mrs. Pennington is survived by her sons, Allen Pennington and wife, Carolyn, of Coldspring, TX, Danny Pennington and wife, Sandra, of Choudrant, LA, and Randy Pennington of Choudrant, LA; sister, Dovie Faulkenberry of Mer Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Lanlie Pennington-Tubbs, Samuel Pennington, Nikki Pennington, Benjamin Pennington, Zachary Pennington, Teresa Dewberry, Kelly Pennington, Tiffany Fenske, and John Pennington; twelve great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lek Pennington; nephews, Roy Dale Hughes and Olly Hughes; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, S.G. Pennington, Jr.; parents, John and Lillian Armstrong; daughter, Len Delores Pennington; son, Allie Pennington; brother, Johnny Armstrong; and sister, Esther Hughes.
