Obituary of Marilyn Williamson Porter

Funeral services for Marilyn Williamson Porter are scheduled for 1 PM Monday, March 11, 2024 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dusty Walker officiating. A time of visitation will be held Monday from 12 noon - 1 PM service time at Goldens. Mrs. Porter, a retired Office Manager from Walmart, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the age of seventy-two. She also was retired Dispatcher for Vernon Sawyer Trucking Company. Mrs.Porter loved to travel especially to Big Creek Lodge. Her family was her heart, she loved watching her daughters and granddaughters play softball, and her grandson play soccer. Mrs. Porter was a member of Bastrop First Assembly of God and she loved her church family dearly. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Jimmy Porter; daughters, Christy Davis, Brandi Briley and husband, Todd; granddaughters, Morgan Davis, Sydnee Davis, KB Briley; grandson, Cooper Briley; brothers, Ronald Williamson and wife, Sylvia, Lyndol Williamson and wife, Sarah; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Porter is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Ruth Williamson.
