Mrs. Bennett, a resident of Bastrop, LA, was born July 27, 1944, and passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of seventy-nine. She married the love of her life, Bill Bennett, on March 31, 1967, and together they raised five children. Even after being married for almost fifty-seven years, the love they had for one another never faded. Their type of love was rare and serves as a true testament of what a marriage should be! Mrs. Bennett was saved and baptized and loved her Lord. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many and will be remembered as being a storyteller, as well as a truth teller. Mrs. Bennett always enjoyed having her family around her and they were with her throughout her last days. She was a very giving woman and a thrifty shopper, a trait she passed to her children. Mrs. Bennett had a great sense of humor, and she will be terribly missed by all those that knew her! Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband, Bill Bennett; children, Carolyn Jane Walton, Jerry Dale Walton (Sherry), Danny Gene Walton, Tammy Diane Bennett Crockett (Paul), and Bobbie Jo Bennett (Yani); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Alvin Streety, Sr. and Nina Pearl Collier; beloved granddaughter, Holli Crockett; siblings, Patsy Pearl Streety, Henry Alvin Junior Streety, Pamela Louise, Peggy Geraldine Streety, and Nina “Ladine” Streety. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Crockett, Jes Hawthorne, Marcus Hawthorne, Kayla Hawthorne, Johnny Shields Jr., and Johnny Shields III. The family would like to give a special thank you to Passages Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Mrs. Bennett. They are truly grateful for all you have done.
