Obituary of John H. "Paw Paw" Crumley

Funeral services for Mr. John H. "Paw Paw" Crumley, age 66 of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. W.T. Darnell and Rev. Jeff May officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Jamie Little officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Crumley, a retired superintendent with 23 years at the Bastrop Daily Enterprise and member of White Avenue Baptist Church passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at his residence. He lived a simple life having served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and music director at area churches. He is survived by his wife, Mary Crumley, daughter, Allison Crumley Woods and husband Michael of Bastrop, LA; son John "Tim" Crumley and wife Wendi of Houston, TX; two brothers, James Crumley of Bastrop, LA, Willie D. Crumley of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Tiffany Crumley and fiance' Miike, Jon Thomas Akers, Heather Crumley Deshazo and husband Adam, Brandi Cooley and husband Dustin, Felicia Wires and fiance' Alan; three great grandchildren, Kalii Ramirez, Kadence Cooley, Trevor Cooley and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Crumley is preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Akers; sister, Juanita Chain and brother, Earl "Bud" Crumley. Serving as pallbearers are: Dean Freeman, J.W. Sumrell, Kevin Chain, Mark Crumley, Gerald Massey and John Walker. Honorary pallbearers are: Jerry Tomlin, Frank Lee and Dr. Tommy Causey.
