Obituary of Louise Gunter Cain

Louise Gunter Cain, age 89, died September 6, 2011 in New Orleans surrounded by her loving family. Louise is survived by her daughters, Linda Gunter of Dallas, Texas, Janet Krane and husband Kevin (her favorite son-in-law) of New Orleans, Louisiana and her beloved grandchildren, Spencer and Mari Krane of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Abby Krane and Stewart Krane of New Orleans, Louisiana. Louise, who was born in Eminence, Missouri, moved to Bastrop as a child and lived there until 2006, when she moved to New Orleans (her home was always Bastrop). Louise was married to Louis Gunter, who died in 1961. She married Wilson Cain in 1972. Wilson died in 1996. Louise was the last survivor of her siblings, Frank Hassler, Mable Smith and Fern Hill. Louise was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church and even though she had moved away she still loved her Cherry Ridge family. She was a wonderful seamstress, great cook, and caring mother and most important, Weezy was a loving and fun grandmother. Her Bastrop backyard was devoted to her grandchildren of whom she was so proud. Funeral services will be Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1 PM in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Gregory conducting the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 PM service time at the funeral home.
