Funeral services for John Edgar Owens, age 75, of Bastrop, LA have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, February, 27, 2005 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jimmy Yocum and Bobby Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Owens, a retired mechanic for Bacon Equipment Company in Mer Rouge, died Friday, February 24, 2005. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Joann Owens; five children, Chris Owens and wife Donna, Janice Anderson, Charles Owens and wife Susie, Earl Owens and Rita Cross; ten grandchildren, Natasha Owens Ouintanilla and husband Sal, Eaan Owens, Jade Owens, Taylor Owens, John Stephen Anderson, Willie Halford, Cindy Bagby and husband Jason, Samantha Owens, Angel Owens and John David Owens; five great grandchildren, Jessica and Mike Quintanilla, Bailey Woodson, Kade Bagby and Logan Anderson.
Serving as pallbearers are: Sal Quintanilla, Clay Dillard, Stephen Anderson, Eaan Owens, Charles Sisk and Jason Bagby.
Honorary pallbearers are: Jackie Owens, Ronnie Jones and John David Owens.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
