Funeral services for Robert E. "Bob" Hunter, age 72, of Bastrop have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Herring officiating. Interment will be in the McGaha Memorial Cemetery near Goodwill, La.
Mr. Hunter was a retired Captain with the Bastrop Police Department, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of the local VFW. He passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Louise McGaha Hunter; daughter, Susan Hunter of Bastrop, LA; son, Terry Hunter and wife Tammy of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Trelbia Pullen of Bastrop, LA., Annette Goodwin of Florence, AL; five grandchildren, Tyler Hunter, Amanda Hunter, Colby Green, Jaisley Green and Ali Green and a special family friend that is like a son, Mitch Hendrix and wife Paula "PK" of Starkville,MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Modez Hunter; brother, Billy Hunter and a granddaughter, Anna Johnson.
Pallbearers are: Hugh Warren Herrington, Jerry Goodman, Kevin Pullen, Donald McIntyre, Earl Tackett and John Tackett.
Honorary pallbearers are: Billy Perry, W.L. Martin and David Bryan.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
