Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Harper, 92, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Reily Memorial Methodist Church in Collinston, LA, with Rev. Henry Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Harper, a resident of Collinston, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011. She retired at the age of 79 from Oak Woods Home for the Elderly in Mer Rouge where she was employed as an LPN and Assistant Administrator. She was a member of Reily Memorial Methodist Church and a member of The Eastern Star. Mrs. Harper was a world traveler and had made two trips to the Holy Land. She is preceded in death by her husband, A.H. "Doody" Harper; parents, Nonie Richards and Ruby Olen Richards; son, Robert Olen "Roddy" Harper; and brothers, Alfred Freeman Richards, Ancil Richards, Coy Richards; sisters, Peggy Richards Carter and Ruby Mae Richards Hughes. Mrs. Harper is survived by her daughter, Wanona Shoemaker of Monroe, LA; sister, Pat Lockwood and husband Jim of Houma, LA; grandchildren, Kim Rogers and Roy Stewart, Robert Harper, Traci Shoemaker, Susan Coston, Shellie Copeland; great grandchildren, Julie Rogers, Matthew Harper Smith, India Coston, Isabelle Coston, Payton Simone; numerous nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Copeland of Bastrop, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Kirkland, Jimmy Ray Carter, Chris Carter, Eugene Copeland, Buddy Savage, and Jim Lockwood. Honorary pallbearers are special nephew, Bob Stewart, Roy Stewart, and members of the Reily Memorial Methodist Church Choir.
