Obituary of Mollie Belle Johnson

Funeral services for Mollie Belle Johnson of Bastrop, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Ballard and Rev. Gerald Gates officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson was born October 25, 1913 and passed away on December 10, 2011. She was raised in Mangham, Louisiana, and spent her adult life in Bastrop, where she died. For decades, Mrs. Johnson was a beloved member of Green Acres Baptist Church and the Woman's Missionary Union. She worked a number of jobs over the years, including at Bastrop High School, the Garnier Clinic, and the Peoples Water Service Company. She was also a long-serving voting booth worker and Commissioner-in-Charge. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert O'Gilvey Weston and Rosa Lee (Shepherd) (Weston) Crawford; her step-father, James Crawford; her husband, Gip Johnson; and her four sisters, Mamie Nobles, Berta Beatrice (Bea) Crawford, Minnie Lee Isaac, and Gracie Mae Nobles. She is survived by her son Alton Johnson and his wive Linda (Cowan) Johnson of Plano, Texas; her son Hilton Johnson and his wife Anne (Bagwell) Johnson of Lake Stevens, Washington; her five grandchildren, Greg Johnson, Michele Lindberg, Bob Johnson, Julie Davenport, and Jack Johnson; her great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be; James M. Johnson, James E. Flint, Bobby J. Wooden, Michael D. Wooden, William W. Patrick, Ronald N. Eubanks, Limeul Lew Eubanks and Jack L. Johnson. Visitation will be at 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Golden Funeral Home.
