Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Pearl Laing, age 88, are scheduled for 3 PM Wednesday December 21, 2011 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday December 20, from 5 PM until 8 PM at Golden's. Mrs. Laing, a resident and homemaker of Bastrop, went home to be with the Lord Monday December 19, 2011 at Oakwoods Home for the Elderly in Mer Rouge, LA. She also attended First Assembly of God in Bastrop. She is survived by her daughter, Diane McMullan and husband Billy of Bastrop, LA; sons, Joe Laing and wife Kathy of Bastrop, LA, Gene Laing of Monroe, LA; brother, Ernest Wallace of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Regina Jordan, Michael Laing, Margaret Kinnaird, Jonette Gray, Karen Clark, Karla Massey, Christy Scott, Josh Laing, Christy Little, Brandon McDonald, Becky McMullan, Amber Olden, Eric Laing; twenty-seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. Mrs. Laing is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, L. E. Laing; son, Don Laing; grandson, Troy Brett Duplissey, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Perrault Laing; two sisters and seven brothers. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Laing, Josh Laing, Eric Laing, Brandon McDonald, Coby Laing, Lance Gray. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jordan McDonald, Tommy Tumlison, Jason Massey. The family wishes to thank the staff and employees of Premier Hospice and The Oakwoods Home for the Eldery for their kindness and support.
