Funeral services for Helen L. Martin, age 75, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Don Cardin officiating.
Ms. Martin, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a retired employee of the Bastrop Police Department.
Ms. Martin is preceded in death by her father, R.G. Lucas; mother, Nellie McLeod Lucas Day; step-father, Robert L. Day; husband, L.C. "Jiggs" Martin; sister, Lavern Carter; and brothers-in-law, A.G. Martin and Glen Carter.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory Martin and wife Andrea of Bastrop, LA, Jay A. Martin and wife Melanie of Dubach, LA; grandchildren, Justin Martin, Michael and Harley Martin, Ashley and Jody Davidson, Marleigh Martin; great grandchildren, Hunter Martin, Macie Martin, Brady Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews and family friend Frank Hayes.
