Obituary of Jr. Carney

Funeral services for Mr. Harvey James Carney, Jr., age 89, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Holly Ridge with Rev. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Good Road Cemetery (Holly Ridge) under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Carney, a retired engineer with the Louisiana Mill and member of Southside Baptist Church, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Lagniappe Health Care. He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of the NRA, VFW and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Carney is survived by his wife of 49 years, Annie Bell Carney; two daughters, Dawn Loretta Ann Englehart and husband Chris of Seattle, WA, Jennie Lait and husband Sean of Bastrop, LA; two sons, James Adam Carney and wife Loretta of Lebanon, VA, Dale Carney of West Monroe, LA; sister, Florence Eskew of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mertie Carney; brothers, Floyd Carney, Virgil Carney and a sister, Ethel Chance. Serving as pallbearers are: Dale Carney, Eddie Vasquez, Anthony Tanksley Hires, Dustin Fosters, Ken Frost and Robin LaForge.
