Obituary of Precious Maxine Hughes

Funeral services for Mrs. Precious Maxine Hughes, age 94, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Dumas officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 6 PM until 8 PM Monday, July 22 at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes, a retired cafeteria manager at Beekman School, was a member of Hughes Chapel Methodist Church, enjoyed doing yard work but she loved her family most of all. She is survived by her son, Mitchell Ray Hughes of Bastrop, LA; her daughter, Sandra Harper of Bastrop, LA; her sister, Lois Underwood of Crossett, AR; her brother, Terrell Wise of Crossett, AR; her grandchildren, Bodie Cooper and wife Lisa of Bastrop, LA, Chad Harper and wife Dawn of Bastrop, LA; her great grandchildren, Candace Beau Cooper, Jeremy Mitchell Cooper & fiancee' Lauren Wood, Jerri Rae Harper, Steve Austin Harper; her great great grandson, Slade Mitchell Cooper. Mrs. Hughes is preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Mart Hughes; her brother, Gordon Fady Wise; her sisters, Margie Johnston, Cecile Wise, Margaret Sutton. Serving as pallbearers will be Bodie Cooper, Chad Harper, Jeremy Cooper, Austin Harper, Earl Crumley, and Allen Campbell.
