Obituary of Murriel Raborn Broussard

Murriel Raborn Broussard has gone home to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born May 31, 1920 in Bonita, LA, and passed from this life on July 28, 2013.
Anyone who knew her, knew her as Merle Broussard. She was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church since 1992. For over 50 years she lived in Metairie, LA. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and was a past Worthy Matron. She learned and loved to play bridge while living in Metairie and continued to play in Bastrop. She was a very loving, caring, and giving individual and aunt.
Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Broussard; parents, Alvin Eugene Raborn and Dessie Harp Raborn; sister, Mildred R. Anderson; and niece, Alice Lynn Anderson.
Those left to cherish her memories are her nieces, Glenda Anderson Shepherd and husband Billy, Gail Anderson Bonner and husband Tommy; cousin, Jerry Harp and wife Martha; four great nieces, Allison Webb, Adrian Mead, Amy Pruden, Brandy Rogers; nephew, Brett Rogers; four great great nephews; and two great great nieces.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Harp, Billy Shepherd, John Paul Pruden, Tommy Bonner, Walter Bonner, and Davy Patrick.
