Obituary of Roy Edward "Red" Massey

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Edward "Red" Massey, age 74, of Bastrop, LA, are for 10 AM Thursday, August 8, 2013 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kelvin Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Kilbourne, LA. Mr. Massey was born February 23, 1939 in Oak Grove, LA and passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 in Bastrop. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years. Mr. Massey loved playing music, dancing, playing dominoes and being around family and friends. He is survived by his sisters, Faye Waggoner and husband George of Downsville, LA, Bonnie Sims of Bastrop, LA, Delores Aaron and husband Edgar of Bastrop, LA, Paulette Whitehead and husband Clifton of Mer Rouge, LA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Massey is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Lee Massey; mother, Annie Bell Massey; sisters, Lillian Townsend, Thelma Reynolds, Sivil Hart; brothers, Hillard Massey, Odell Massey, Harold Dean Massey and Henry Massey. Pallbearers will be; Larry DeBlieux, Kenneth Wayne Aaron, Ricky Barton, David Wayne Sims, Terry Reynolds and Brett Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be; Bill Massey, Mark Rogers, Bryan Aaron and Jerry Kavalir. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
