Obituary of Marion Louise Crenshaw Barthol

Funeral services for Mrs. Marion Louise Crenshaw Barthol, age 82, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Jones, LA. Mrs. Barthol, a homemaker and resident of Jones, LA, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013. She was a member of Bonita Full Gospel Church of God. She was an avid gardener, a seamstress, and an exceptional cook. She loved to attend church and singing. Mrs. Barthol loved her family deeply and was known as "Aunt Marion" or "Mammaw" to all in Jones and Bonita. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Paralee Crenshaw; daughter, Linda Gayle Lewis; brothers, Boyd Crenshaw, Henry Ferrell, Jr.; and sister, Shirlean Pruitt. Mrs. Barthol is survived by her husband, I.V. Barthol, Sr. of Jones, LA; daughter, Zela Talley and husband Hunter of Bastrop, LA; three sons, I.V. Barthol, Jr. and wife Diane of Bastrop, LA, Gerald Barthol and wife Sue of Bastrop, LA, Lee Barthol and wife Jeannie of Bastrop, LA; three sisters, Kathrin Basso of Sumter, SC, Emmi Kinnaird of Hamburg, AR, Patricia Wells of Kenner, LA; two brothers, Robert Crenshaw of Little Rock, AR, Joe Crenshaw of Bastrop, LA; ten grandchildren, Phillip Lynn Hall, Steven Eppinette, Kristina Barthol, Secret Hickman, Serena Lowrey, Christopher Lee Barthol, Ashley Barthol, David Barthol, Emily Myrick, Carrie Williams; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Barthol, David Barthol, Bobby Jackson, Mike Scroggins, Owens West, and Tommy Will Sowyers. Honorary pallbearers are James Williams and Bobby Mayo, Jr.
