Obituary of Geralyn "Gerri" Kilpatrick Rushing

Funeral services for Mrs. Geralyn "Gerri" Kilpatrick Rushing, age 46, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Eppinette officating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Rushing "GG", a resident of Bastrop, LA and a homemaker, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013. Mrs. Rushing was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and an avid fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Fund. Mrs. Rushing loved her grandchildren dearly, enjoyed fishing, and was an excellent cook. Mrs. Rushing is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Collins; and step-father, Carl Collins. Mrs. Rushing is survived by her husband Tim Allen Rushing; father, Gerald Kilpatrick of Bastrop, LA; two daughters, Heather Evans and husband Paul of Monroe, LA, Brandi Dement and husband T.J. of Bastrop, LA; one son, Patrick Golden of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Terri Young of Monroe, LA, Donna Moncrief and husband Mike of Monroe, LA; mother-in-law Paulette Griffith and husband James of Bastrop, LA; step-brother, Clyde Collins and wife Krista of Daphne, AL; and nine grandchildren, Ava Stephens, Brody Evans, Brayden Golden, Jett Evans, Joy Dement, Audrey Dement, Samantha Evans, Tabatha Evans and Payton Evans. Serving as pallbearers will be T.J. Dement, Danny Bryant, Brent Butler, Brent McDonald, Anthony Griffith, and Travis Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Halton, Jerry McDonald, and Tim Rushing. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Harmony Baptist Church.
