Joyce Ann Suggs Ogden of Bastrop left to be with the Lord on August 21, 2013, having aged 74 years.
She enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening, traveling and visiting with family. She worked at several occupations including helping her husband manage Bakers Auto Parts, cooking on riverboats, being a housewife and raising three daughters.
Joyce has reunited with her family members who preceded her in death. These include her loving husband of 25 years, Harold Ogden; her father and mother, Charles V. and Allie Suggs; her sisters, Mildred Vaughn of Winnsboro, Blanche Anderson of Bastrop, and Evelyn Lofton of Vidalia; her brother, Horace Suggs; and niece Cynthia Clingan.
Those left behind to celebrate her life include her sister, Florence Wallace of Bastrop; three daughters, Sharon Bonner and husband Randy of West Monroe, Audrey Cunningham and husband James of Bastrop, and Pamala Scroggins and husband Carl of Eupora, MS; six grandchildren, Jacob Cunningham, Matt Bonner and wife Brittany, Seth Cunningham, Lindsey Bonner Johnson and husband David, Westley Scroggins, Heath Scroggins; and two great-grandchildren, Carley and Camden Bonner; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Services will be held at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cecil Gregory and Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jack Wallace, Jr., Jerry Taylor, Jeffery Fragala, Ray Witherington, Buster Mullins, and Chase Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Shurden and Daniel Clark Roper.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Daniel Trejo of Bastrop, the hospice nurses of Premier Hospice of Bastrop, Mrs. Viola Seay, Jessie Warren, and Lindsay Fragala for exceptional care and love.
