Obituary of Hayward Thomas Clack

Funeral services for Mr. Hayward Thomas Clack, age 86, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Horseshoe Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Lonadier and Rev. John White officiating. Interment will follow in Stevenson Cemetery, Rayville, LA, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Horseshoe Baptist Church. Mr. Clack, a resident of Mer Rouge, LA, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a lifetime member of Horseshoe Baptist Church. Mr. Clack was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in Japan. He was an avid gardener and hunter. He enjoyed cows and horses and operated a small leather shop. Mr. Clack is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Katie Clack; daughter, Wanda Gail Clack; brothers, Norwood "Pud" Clack, Wymond Clack, Lamar "Bud" Clack; and sister, Joy Dale Christianson. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Jones Clack of Mer Rouge, LA; two daughters, Pam Hendrix and husband Don of Mer Rouge, LA, Clara McKoin and husband Darrell of Oak Ridge, LA; two sons, Jerry Clack of Oak Ridge, LA, Chuck Clack and wife Kathy of Columbia, LA; two brothers, Felix Clack and wife Lorene of Mineola, TX; Emmett Clack and wife Fern of Belle Chase, LA; four grandchildren, Krystal Lowery, Charley Carter, Josh Clack, Tommy Clack; and two great grandchildren, Alyson Lowery and Will "Bubba Ray" Lowery. Serving as pallbearers are James Dawson, Rev. Charlie McLean, David Thomas, Steve Gregory, Greg Smith, and Lane Pipes. Honorary pallbearers are Lloyd Robinson, Herbert Thomas, and D.R. Mayo.
