Obituary of Myrtle Holloway Townsend

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Holloway Townsend, age 91, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Hankins and Rev. Lloyd Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Townsend, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Townsend enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, and reading. She is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Townsend; mother, Nova Holloway; father, Robert Lee Holloway; sister, Helen Holloway Alexandra; and a favorite nephew, Jimmy Ball. Mrs. Townsend is survived by her daughter, Joyce Townsend Goyne and husband Douglas of Bastrop, LA; son, John Charles Townsend and wife Jean of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Daron Goyne and wife Michelle of Bastrop, LA, Alicia Harrell and husband David of Bastrop, LA, Borden Townsend and wife Renee of Bastrop, LA, Joe Townsend of Bastrop, LA, Sherrie Lemons of Goodwill, LA; eight great grandchildren, Caleb Harrell and wife Kelsea of Bastrop, LA, Chelsee Goyne of Bastrop, LA, Alexis Townsend of Bastrop, LA, Bryar Goyne of Bastrop, LA, Zachary Harrell of Bastrop, LA, Aaron Townsend of Bastrop, LA, Chastyn Townsend of Bastrop, LA, Michael Lemons of Goodwill, LA; two great great grandchildren, Spencer Harrell of Bastrop, LA, Addison Harrell of Bastrop, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Daron Goyne, Borden Townsend, David Harrell, Elva Greer, Roy Graham, and Bobby Williams. Honorary pallbearers are her great grandchildren; Caleb Harrell, Chelsee Goyne, Alexis Townsend, Bryar Goyne, Zachary Harrell, and Aaron Townsend.
