Funeral services for Wayne Silmon, 62, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday July 12, 2004, at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Vic Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Silmon, a retired International Paper Company employee with 40 years of service, died Friday July 9, 2004, at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Silmon is survived by his wife, Carol Silmon; mother, Mabel Silmon of Bastrop; son, Robert Silmon & wife Martha of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Bobbie Dupree & husband Ray of Bastrop, Elaine Parks & husband Lester of Spencer, Alice Ziegenbalg & husband Bruce of Heber Springs, AR; three grandchildren, Hannah Silmon, Zachary Silmon and Joshua Silmon.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bob Silmon.
Pallbearers will be Richard Reynolds, Ronnie Rice, Phillip Lester, Larry Carter, Scottie Townsend, and Dixon Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Carter Cox, Orville Noble and Ray Judkins.
