Obituary of David R. Wooton

Funeral services for Mr. David R. Wooton, age 77, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday September 01, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with the Rev. C.S. Cascio officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove South Cemetery following a funeral procession led by the North Louisiana Patriot Guard Riders. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5-8 p.m. Mr. Wooton served in the Army and was an avid hunter and a great carpenter. He is survived by his wife Dorothy V. Wooton; his sisters, Rachel Gray of Bastrop, LA and Joyce Kirkley of Carson, MS; his brothers-in-law, Nolan Wilson of Athens, TX; Cecil Cliburn of Prentiss, MS; Bobby Clingan of Bastrop, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Wooton is preceded in death by his parents, Emmie Seay Brown and Aaron Wooten; sisters Celesta Cliburn and Mattie Clingan; and brother Jimmy Wooten. Serving as pallbearers will be Elton Gray, David "Bubba" Cliburn, Hoss Kirkley, William Gorman, Gavin Watts, and Hardie Eppinette. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Allen Gray, Ricky Glass, Kegan Bretton, and Brandon Wooten. Memorial donations may be made to the family to cover final expenses.
