Obituary of Mary Catherine Hankins

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Catherine Hankins are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday evening. Mrs. Hankins was a charter member of Antioch Baptist Church in Bastrop where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and church secretary. She loved her Lord Jesus, her husband, son, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to read, watch funny movies, play games, fish, cook, watch birds and watch her flowers grow at home. She was a great inspiration to her family and friends and will be missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her son, Bruce Hankins and wife Debra of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Katie Bankson of Corbin, Kentucky, Betty Chadwick of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Britt Hankins and wife Crystal of Bastrop, LA, Brad Hankins and wife Jackie of Waynesville, Ohio, Melanie Hankins and Jeremy Harris of Bastrop, LA, Tina Black and Dustin Norris of Bastrop, LA; great grandchildren, Blake Hankins, Brittney Hankins, Rachael Hankins, Drake Neveu, Chloe Norris and Noah Lolly. Mrs. Hankins is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, G.L. "Jack" Hankins; parents, Walter and Lela Chelette; sister, Lena Mae Gwin; brothers, Walter Chelette, Jr. and Huey P. Chelette. Serving as pallbearers will be Olin Haynes, Mike Parks, Clint Downs, Glen Hutchinson, Greg Sloan, and Jason Jackson.
