Obituary of Pauline (Polly) Simmons Jones

Pauline (Polly) Simmons Jones, age 92, passed away September 4, 2013 in Mer Rouge, LA. Mrs. Jones was a longtime member of United Memorial Methodist Church of Bastrop as well as United Methodist Women. Throughout her life, Mrs. Jones enjoyed sewing and cooking and was an avid reader. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S. with her family. She was happiest when spending time with her family. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. (Buck) Jones; daughters, Diane Duckworth, Linda Lawhon and Jeannie Butler; grandsons, James Butler and Ricky Clack; and brother, C.D. (Sleepy) Simmons. She is survived by her daughter, Mona Fisher and husband Rex of Austin, TX; sister, Willie Mae Bedenbaugh of West Monroe, LA; sons-in-law, Jep Butler and Bill Lawhon, both of Mer Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Jep Butler, Jr. and wife Teresa of Bastrop, LA, JoEllen Butler Guyewski and husband Glen of Bastrop, LA, Terri Lynn Burgess Montgomery and husband Terry of Bastrop, LA, Donna Sue Burgess Conley and husband Michael of Manassas, VA, Vicki Burgess Bazile of Metairie, LA, Kimberly Fricke of New Orleans, LA, Tiffany Fricke Neider of Mandeville, LA, Danielle Fricke Haydel and husband Michael of Norco, LA, Damon Jones Fisher and wife Amy of Austin, TX; great grandchildren, Holly Butler McCready and husband James of Monroe, LA, Clinton Butler of Bastrop, LA, Elizabeth Butler of Bastrop, LA, Zackary Welch of Bastrop, LA, Heather Montgomery Lee and husband Nathan of Bastrop, LA, Erin Montgomery Spence and husband Derek of Collinston, LA, Jacob Conley of Manassas, VA, Drew Bazile of Metairie, LA, Hannah Bazile of Metairie, LA, Alexandra Guerin of New Orleans, LA, Stephanie Guerin of New Orleans, LA, Justin Neider of Mandeville, LA; great great grandchildren, Garrett Lee of Bastrop, LA, Mauri Lee of Bastrop, LA, and Brock Spence of Collinston, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Jep Butler, Jr., Damon Fisher, Terry Montgomery, Michael Conley, Clinton Butler, Jr., Glen Guyewski, and Derek Spence. Zack Welch will be an honorary pallbearer. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home. The family would like to request memorials be made to Memorial Methodist Church in Bastrop, LA, in lieu of flowers.
