A memorial service for Mrs. Carolyn Hendrix Wilkes will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilkes, age 78, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was a resident of West Monroe, formerly of Bastrop. Mrs. Wilkes was a retired school bus driver and a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling, and crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Hendrix, Sr.; son, Ellis Hendrix, Jr.; father, J.B. Morrow; mother, Virginia Morrow; brother, Charles Morrow; and step-mother, Jeanette Morrow.
Mrs. Wilkes is survived by her husband, Joe Wilkes of West Monroe, LA; three daughters, Virginia Hendrix Grabowski and husband Chris of Columbia, SC, Marsha Hendrix Farrar and husband Jimmy of Collinston, LA, Paula Hendrix Berryman and husband Martin of Dallas, TX; son, Robert Hendrix and wife Sue of West Monroe, LA; two step-sons, Bo Wilkes and wife Tina of West Monroe, LA, Ken Wilkes of Shreveport, LA; nine grandchildren, Eric Hendrix, Linda Williams and husband Perry, Chad Hendrix and wife Shelley, Jamie Frasier, Jessica Morrison and husband Patrick, Heather Lyles and husband Brian, Tabatha Barrentine and husband Casey, Randi Brooks and husband Dustin, Conner Wilkes; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
